Dansville ArtWorks opened the doors to its arts center and gift shop Labor Day weekend of 2015, and in the first year, we made great strides toward our intended mission: to cultivate and enhance the visual, literary, and performing arts opportunities in the greater Dansville community. Although 2020 was significantly impacted by the pandemic and we were closed for half of the year, we accomplished the following during previous years:
⦁    FREE access to the arts for our community – more than 50 events attended by 450+ adults and children including exhibits, a student art showcase, Visiting Author Series, Open Mic and Performing Arts Series, Fairy Doors of Dansville, and Chalk Walk & ArtsFest (our signature downtown summer festival)
⦁    Low cost art making opportunities for adults and children – dozens offered annually prior to 2020
⦁    Opportunities for artists with reasonable fees – hundreds of regional artists have exhibited, consigned and taught at Dansville ArtWorks.

When we started, the Board of Directors was determined to keep Dansville ArtWorks and its offerings open to everyone, which meant no membership structure or dues and low participation fees for artists. Our operational model requires community and business support in the form of donations, as well as grants. Since we retain a small percentage of revenue, we seek contributions to offset operating expenses. We are appreciative of our community’s support to date and continue to strive to be a good steward of every investment. Every dollar donated stays LOCAL! Thank you!
